Development Engineer

LightLeaf Solar is a tech startup dedicated to developing high-performance Structural Solar Panels (SSP’s) for unusual and demanding applications. We are looking for a keen Mechanical Engineering graduate to help us with product development and manufacturing.

Start Date: May 1, 2019

Location: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan


Responsibilities include:

  • Working with stakeholders to identify product needs

  • Develop and execute project plans

  • Developing new and exciting products based on our innovative SSP technology

  • Investigating and developing manufacturing processes

  • Developing and implementing product test protocols  


Consider applying if you are:

  • Creative, passionate for engineering, and a practical problem solver

  • Fluent in advanced design tools (CAD/CAM) and CNC fabrication

  • Interested in outdoor/mobile/marine/RV products and systems

  • Experienced in manufacturing processes and techniques

  • Familiar with advanced composite materials and fabrication

  • Interested or experienced in power electronics (charging systems, controllers, batteries)

  • Ready to make something big happen!


As we are accessing a national funding program for this position, we will need to fit within their guidelines. Due to funding constraints, all applicants should be:

  • Under the Age of 30

  • A graduate of a recognized school (including U of S or SaskPolytech)

  • Eligible to work in Canada
